Cultivate Bee Knowledge
Our club promotes beekeeping knowledge, supports beginners, fosters practical skills, encourages research, shares resources, protects honey flora, and unites apiarists through events, equipment access, and industry representation for collective growth.

European Bees
The bee is a marvellous flying machine. She can carry a payload of nectar or pollen close to her own weight. The bee’s body is delicate.

Native Bees
The Townsville area is perfect for keeping native bees. There are approx 2000 native bee species in Australia, however, only 11 are social.

Asian Honey Bees
This bee is normally found throughout most of Asia, including India, China, Japan, Philippines and Indonesia.

Tropical Bee Issues
Tropical bees face threats like habitat loss, climate change, pests, and diseases—impacting pollination, biodiversity, and honey production.

Bee Swarms
Bees swarm to reproduce colonies. It is nature doing its thing! Usually a queen will fly from the colony and take half the flying bees with her.

Hive Monitoring
By monitoring hive weight and conditions, we gain valuable insights. These data are near real-time from three members’ hives.
Wonderful World of Honey
Yet these daunting drawbacks are shrugged off as the bee goes daily about her task of collecting nectar and pollen to take back to the hive so that future generations of bees can thrive. And the bee is willing to die to defend the hive.
